This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Yoga and mindfulness: what a great way to help students keep focused, improve balance, and gain confidence. Students at my school come from many countries around the globe. I teach yoga and mindfulness at my school. Teaching the younger children balancing poses is quite a task. Some students are able to hold a yoga pose, while it's a challenge for others. Therefore, students become frustrated, lose focus, and just want to quit. Providing students with wiggle seats/wobble cushions will assist them with coordination and balance ---a perfect way for them to persevere and keep focused.

These students like to move a lot! I don't mind their wiggles, but I would love to see them have focus, balance, and build their confidence. These mats for yoga are the answer! I have one right now and the students take turns with it. It works so well to get the student to focus! I would love to see these children all have their own mats and all be able to focus and balance in their yoga practice and meditation.
