Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At our school, our children wear uniforms with our school logo on it. Our kids are given clothes such as t-shirts, long sleeves, polo shirts, pants, skirts and dresses, sweatpants for gym. Last year students were sent home with a crewneck to keep warm. This has been a freezing winter so far in NY, students often wear the crewneck, but only have this one with our school logo.

I'm requesting hoodies that I can custom-design for my third-grade class.

Each year I don't mind using my own money to buy t-shirts and custom-design them for my class, but hoodies are a bit more expensive. Kids will be kids and from time to time leave their sweatshirts behind. I want to make sure if this happens (or even if it doesn't) that my students have another article of clothing that is school-appropriate to wear as we've faced a very chilly winter season.

Those who know me know I enjoy making custom apparel with my Cricut. I will use my Cricut to put our school logo on the hoodies to make it school-appropriate and even make it extra special by including all of the names of the students in my class on them. This will not only make my students feel special, but it will also support our classroom community by bringing us together. The group I have is so incredibly special, hard-working, and grateful. I've also added some new glue sticks because they're so artistically talented, that we've been running low lately from adding creativity to our assignments.
