This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Wouldn't it be great to have sharpened pencils and erasers ready for my students when they enter math class? So many times my students come in my classroom and do not have the proper math supplies which can make learning stalled and difficult. I am hoping to end that!

Our school is an inner city middle school with a very low budget.

Acquiring something as basic as pencils is problematic. Much of the time, my 7th grade students come into math class every day and use whatever writing utensils they have on hand. At times, they only have pen. Sometimes when they do bring pencils, they are not even sharpened.

My Project

My students need good quality pencils, erasers and sharpeners. With these supplies they will be able to solve problems, take exams, and take notes in pencil. They will no longer have to worry about making mistakes and falling behind during the lesson when they are correcting their notes or work. They would also have peace of mind by knowing they don't have to have their pencils sharpened before they get to class, or worse, at the start of class when I am attempting to explain the day's activities.

Your donations will give my students the ability to come in and get to work.

Taking the time to search for a pencil will no longer be an issue. Students can just come in and get started on whatever task I am giving them. This makes their learning time much more efficient.
