My Students

I teach first grade. The age of the students range from 6-7 years old. They come into school each day ready to try new things and make new choices to grow both personally and academically....so that one day the can take on the world. All of them are unique individuals with many talents!

My job is to give them the tools they need to be successful in and out of the classroom.

Everything we do, they give it their all!

My Project

Having a pencil sharpener in the writing area will help encourage more writing. What 6 year old doesn't like to sharpen pencils! Sounds silly, but allowing them to sharpen their own pencil, anytime (and knowing my students), this will just keep them writing! The color pens...well...WOW!

The pencil sharpener will also help foster responsibility in the classroom.

Our classroom has a list of jobs that students are responsible for at the end of the day. This would become someones job to complete. They would have to sharpen dull pencils and empty the pencil scraps into the trash can at the end of the day.

Three cheers for sharp and on point pencils!
