Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a speech-language therapist providing services to students from PreK to the 5th grade with receptive and expressive language impairments. My Pre-K and Kindergarteners are an exciting group of interested students learning various skills through structured play, songs, story-time, and hands-on activities. My tenacious 1st and 2nd graders enjoy learning new concepts as they build upon their previous knowledge. My witty 3rd-5th graders love participating in group work and learning through friendly competitive academic-based activities.

The joy of watching them explore novel experiences while learning through multi-sensory approaches is priceless!

Although the odds might appear to be against them, my students put their best foot forward to achieve their academic goals.

My Project

Creating a safe and positive learning environment is among my top priorities when working with my students. These materials will help maintain a sanitized environment for my students to learn safely. The Clorox wipes would be used to clean the tables and chairs in between speech sessions. Kleenex tissues, face masks, and hand sanitizer would be extremely helpful in decreasing the spread of germs. The learning activities such as "What's Happening?" photo cards will help to facilitate and increase my students' expressive language skills. The "Building Language Lotto" will assist my students in improving their receptive language skills.
