This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I'm a first grade teacher at a small school located on the south side of Chicago. This school brings together a wonderful sense of community, a positive atmosphere, and a genuine love for learning and growing.
This year I have a class filled with such wonderful, lively personalities.
They are so excited to be back in school and are loving every second of being with their classmates again.
My Project
The key to running a smooth classroom is organization. This is something that I push for my students, but also must push for myself. If I have learned one thing in my years of teaching, it is that children follow by example. So there has been a big pressure on me to GET ORGANIZED.
I have started organizing my classroom by general theme.
This is not only helpful to me, but to my students as well. Every month, I change out my library with themed books, and I have accumulated so many, it is hard to keep track. My centers change as the months change too, and I would love to be able to show my students how to stay organized, as well as allow them to become helpers when it comes to getting materials out, and putting them away.
