Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing and energetic, but do not have a lot of access to athletic teams. When I mentioned a running team their eyes lit up! Living in Queens there are a lot of buildings and apartments, not many playing fields or areas to be active.

My students just want to get out and run!

They spend so much time inside and on technology they are ecstatic at the idea of being outside and with their teacher!

My students are gems in the classroom, hard working and passionate. I want to make them passionate about being fit outside the classroom as well.

My Project

I am starting a running team with my students. Because of lack of indoor space we will definitely be spending a lot of time running outside, after all, what is better than breathing in the fresh air! However with New York weather, it gets cold quickly! They need cold weather gear!

Running outside in cold weather is not possible without gloves and headbands!

By providing my team with these cold weather gear items they will be able to stay active even throughout the winter months.

The gear I have selected will allow my kids to be safe in colder weather while still maintaining their fitness goals. Help me help my kids start a healthy, fit lifestyle!
