My Students

Like many schools across the world, we closed our doors 7 weeks ago hoping to come back in 2 weeks. After a week, we realized the wait to return to normal was going to be much longer. Last week, our governor decided to close schools for the rest of the year. My students are so disappointed. The end of the year is always full of such amazing opportunities: building paper roller coasters (we only needed 3-4 more days to finish!), field trips, group projects, field day, yearbooks, etc.

We have spent the entire year building relationships and now we don't get to enjoy the relationships we've built.

While my students are doing great with logging in and completing work online and attending classes on Zoom, I know my students are missing their friends and being in school.

My Project

My students are working so hard to be successful in school while at home. Oftentimes, their learning assignments involved watching videos or participating in Zoom calls. My students need earbuds they can use to block out the distraction around them. This will also help students with siblings and parents who are also working from home so the video/Zoom call isn't playing loudly for all to hear. The whiteboards would be great for math work, sharing answers through Zoom calls, and helping students from afar. I would like to make a package for each of my students with a pair of earbuds, a whiteboard with marker and eraser, and a postcard to cheer them up and let them know I'm still here to help them.
