My Students

We are a small school in New York City with a diverse population. Our students come from all parts of the world, and in a lot of cases, English is their second language. As a result, words can sometimes be misunderstood. However, the rich cultural experiences that we share together as a class are priceless.

We are constantly looking for ways to enrich our learning environment creating special projects that embrace all levels of scholastic ability and interests.

We especially love STEM activities like robotics, computer coding, and 3-D modeling, but in addition, we also enjoy exploring specialty topics, such as the fine arts, foreign languages, and the Debate Club. We try to make every day an exciting learning experience.

My Project

Switching to remote distance learning has been a real challenge for both my students and me. It has forced me to find unique ways to keep them fully engaged and vested in their education on a daily basis, and has highlighted my limitations of technology.

Having the ability to enhance my media skills will benefit my students as we find innovative ways to showcase our learning - whether it be virtually or in-person.

This online course at Teachers College will enable me to do just that, giving me the necessary skills to really teach my students with the most up to date techniques.
