Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our elementary is a Title I school in Southeast Houston, where 95% of our students are considered at risk. Many of our students live in neighborhoods where they cannot go outside and play because it is just too dangerous.

Our students come from low-income families, where they may experience violence, poverty and other challenges in their neighborhood.

Our elementary students are experiencing difficulty and challenging times due to the Covid 19 pandemic and has impact the students’ lives for years to come. My students are unique in their strengths and challenges, and it's up to the teacher to foster individualized learning to the students.

My Project

With very little equipment my students cant have a proper physical education class. The new equipment will provide my students with the resource we need for our Jump Rope and Hula Hoop unit. Students will learn how to jump rope with a single rope and also how to jump rope with other students. Students will also learn how to hula hoop. Students will learn how jump roping and hula hooping is great for the heart and a great cardiovascular exercise. The new equipment will provide a great experience for my class.
