My Project

I have recognized a large amount of students who are not allowed to go out for lunch and they may not enjoy the school lunch and snacks. We allow students top go out for lunch as an incentive but for the ones whose parents did not sign the permission slip, it becomes challenging for them. At times some of the students need a different space to express themselves and because we are all in one area during lunch they can become overwhelming. I purchase snacks for the students before in the past and they seem to enjoy it. I have board games that I am going to include in order to build collaboration.

We have students of all different backgrounds and most of our students at the school is Muslim and Black, Spanish, White etc.

I want to have a variety of different snacks for them to choose from and not having to fully commit to the school lunch. Even though students can purchase their lunch from outside not all of them are able to afford to buy snacks and food daily.

Some students sometimes make fun of their peers when they see them eating the school lunch. Some students may attempt to take pictures of them. To avoid any form of discomfort they are addressed but I would really enjoy providing them with snacks during their break. I can also use the snacks as incentives to change unwanted behaviors and to increase the behaviors we want to see.

Students performing on task or trying to meet their goals will be rewarded.

The snacks will be distributed during lunch for the 6/7th graders and 4th period the snacks will be distributed to the 8 to 12 graders.
