This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Third grade authors need an Epson printer. You know that feeling; needing to print an important document and running out of ink or paper. Your job is pending. Well our jobs are pending indefinitely because we do not have a printer.

Third graders publish many times during the school year.

They also do a lot of research for their nonfiction writing. Many times, this research is done online on educational sites. Students need to be able to print the information they obtain. They need a fully functioning printer. My third graders are energetic, kind, and motivated children eager to learn. They attend a high needs school in the Big Apple. This is my eighth year teaching at this school. I teach an average of 30 students each year. My students come from an area that was highly impacted by Hurricane Sandy. Most of my students were without heat, water, power and food for many days. My classroom is in desperate need of a printer.

My Project

We need a printer and a print server in order to publish our work and print the information we need for our research. Students publish their written pieces many times throughout the year. Many times, they prefer to type their work, especially those that have fine-motor skill issues. They need a printer in order to share their work with others. Third graders also use educational sites on the internet to obtain research for various projects. They need to be able to print the information.

It is essential that students have access to a variety of learning materials.

Our class needs a printer. Thank you in advance for helping us obtain what we need in order to be successful learners.
