This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My first graders love to build and model! The make food and animals out of playdough and mix ingredients to create slime. We also have sensory materials in our peace corner which help students to regulate their emotions so they can be calm and ready to learn.

These materials will serve three purposes: to calm our minds, to spark scientific curiosity and to invent new creations.

Students will use playdough during quiet time and modeling clay in art class. We will do scientific experiments with cornstarch and slime.

Young children can learn to regulate their emotions using their senses and their sense of creativity. Your generosity will help us access a variety of hands on building materials to calm and to create.
