Starting With A Clean, Calm, And Organized Welcome
Help me give my students a clean, calm, organized, and welcoming classroom learning environment. The environment that children are in can either negatively or positively impact growth.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I am requesting these materials to help enhance our learning environment. As a pre-kindergarten teacher, my classroom will be many of these children's first experiences away from family and friends. Pre-kindergarten students will spend 30 hours a week in their classroom learning environment. The feeling that they feel at the beginning of the school year is very important. We want the children and their families to walk into the classroom and feel comfortable about the new year with these cleaning, and organizational materials.
It is my wish that I am not only prepared in the fall to give them the environment that I believe will invite them into the room so they will be calm and receptive to learning but also that the environment can maintain the level of clean and organization that it is at the beginning of the year throughout the year.
Clean: I am requesting a carpet sweeper and laptop cleaning set to help keep our classroom carpets (we have many around the classroom) and our computers (students have access to individual Chromebooks as well as classroom computers) clean.
Calm: I am requesting a tent and classroom doorbell to keep the classroom calm. The tent is so that children can get inside if they need space to regulate themselves while the doorbell will help with classroom transitions.
Organized: I am requesting the portable projector so that I can create classroom signs and posters. The cart, folders, and scrapbook containers are to organize classroom materials for our curriculum so that the students can have access to learning materials. The planners are so I can organize engaging activities based on student interest that is not a part of the curriculum.
