Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 3rd in a low-income neighborhood in the heart of Philadelphia. My classroom this year will have 25 enthusiastic learners, each is on a different learning level and I need to think of creative ways to engage them, keep them focused, and build the foundation to make them life long learners.

Despite the adversity of the harsh area that surrounds our school and many of their homes, I am in constant awe of the resilience that they show.

They come to school wanting to learn and shouldn't let something small like not having a pencil keep them from having their best day.

Our classroom is a safe place where all of my students are encouraged to be themselves and have fun while learning. Because of this, they look forward to coming to school every day.

My Project

Third grade is a very important year for the students, it is the year that they start to take Benchmarks and PSSA tests. By helping our classroom, you will ensure that they have a good head start at the beginning of the year.

Fractions are an important part of our learning this year and the games and manipulative kit will ensure that they have something fun to reinforce what they have learned through out the day.

The pencil boxes will be stocked with pencils and the other supplies that they will need to get through the day. The whiteboard paper will be attached to clipboards and used throughout the day as a way to show what they are working on.
