This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Last school year, I noticed the enthusiasm some of my students showed for helping out around the classroom, especially with cleanup, and would love to increase the cleaning resources in the classroom. This year, I have a better understanding of what motivates my students and would love to be able to give them more chances to have a 'job' during class time. By increasing the number of cleaning rags (we try to be an eco-friendly classroom!) and brooms, more students will be able to participate in the cleaning routines which will also speed up that process, leaving more time for art making. I am also requesting some basic materials, such as pencils, command hooks, and cabinet handles to help my classroom be as functional as possible!
