Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

With the requested donations, students will learn to see the world through the eyes of another person through card making kits and snacks provided within the classroom. A card making station will allow students to demonstrate their compassion towards one another, towards other staff, and towards the community. Students in middle school are very aware of others who need to be uplifted, as well as, when there is a traumatic event in the community that could value from compassion. Creating a free standing card making station, will allow students to alleviate suffering others endure, by making use of these compassionate moments with a free standing card making station.

By providing these materials, as well as snacks to students in times of need, and reward, students are being shown the example of compassion by others.

Students will see the world through the eyes of another through this demonstrated act of compassion.

To demonstrate their success in learning about compassion, students will freely make use of these materials, showing that they understand the time of need of others around them and their receptiveness of what others need from the community, whether it being others in the school, or outside in the community.
