This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a very large (1,200) Title I school. Many of my students are second language learners and several require other supports throughout the school day. The majority of our students come from low-income families in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.

My students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom, and yet, they are always excited to come to school each morning and are willing and ready to learn.

All of our wonderfully curious students set goals for themselves and work hard at reaching these goals. Please give them the opportunity to be prepared each and every school day by gifting them the materials needed to be successful. My students are likely to be greatly motivated and engaged if they have the resources available to support them.

My Project

This year our students will transition into full in-person learning. Many of our families are struggling to make ends meet. This project will allow less fortunate children to obtain all necessary school supplies to ensure a successful academic year.

Starting off the school year with the necessary supplies and materials helps to make the school year a success.

These essential supplies will meet the needs of my students for the whole school year. The supplies will help them complete work, therefore growing academically in their classes. By providing these supplies, my students will not be worried about not having paper, folders, or ink to complete the school year successfully.
