The student population for my school is over 85% Native American. Due to the high poverty rate in our community, the entire district qualifies for free and reduced-proced lunch. Many students will start the school year without essential supplies such as notebooks, pencils, and pens. Through your contribution, my students will be able to start off the school year on a positive note.
With the proper tools and snacks to keep their growing minds ready to learn, students will have a better opportunity to succeed in school.
The folders will help students stay organized and ready for their classes. Snacks are also helpful to keep students focused and on track for success, as many students do not get enough nutrition at home. Through this project, I hope to build connections with students by providing for some of their basic needs.
