My Project

My students are amazing, hardworking and an inspiration to me every day. They come to school with such joy and a willingness to learn. I have my students for their entire 3 year middle school experience which gives me the chance to help them learn skills which will make them successful in high school and beyond.

As a specialized program teacher I really enjoy the challenge of unlocking the puzzle of what they need to be regulated, calm and ready to learn.

Each student has unique needs that required a variety of strategies and/or materials to help them access learning. My job is to solve the puzzle and help them shine.

The sensory items such as kinetic sand, chewy necklaces and stress balls will help with self regulation. We could also use some classroom supplies including laminate film and cardstock to create tasks that can be purchased on Teachers Pay Teachers such as social skills visuals and literacy supports. Finally we’ll use the bulletin board materials to brighten up our room.
