Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a Title I school in the South Bronx where all of the students receive free breakfast and lunch. The students here come from a low socio-economic group and often don't have many new and interesting learning materials at home. School is the place where they are exposed to many different things.

My students are very motivated to come to school and learn.

They love learning new things and are always ask great questions. The students get very excited when we are learning about new topics and even more so when they are using new materials!

I would love to be able to supply the students with new, exciting materials to help spark their interest in learning even more. I am hoping to be able to change the environment in my classroom to make it an even more inviting and comfortable place for students to take risks and learn. Thank you so much in advance for all of your help.

My Project

Decorating my classroom at the beginning of each year is always exciting. I look forward to setting up the room in a way that encourages students to feel comfortable and at home. The fadeless rolls of paper will help decorate the room in calm colors. They make the bulletin boards look better and inviting for student work to come! The name plates are essential for the beginning of the year. They will help ensure that all students know their first and last names.

Students love to write on desks and express themselves and with the dry erase table, they will actually be able to do it!

The students will be able to practice solving problems and writing words without worrying about destroying property! When we go on trips, the safety name tags will keep the students safe by providing a place to have the name and phone number of our school.
