My Project

Hello, my name is Mr. D. and I am a 7th grade teacher at CMS. Throughout my life I have played video games. First, it started off with single player games like Minecraft, but it quickly morphed into games like Mario Kart, Overwatch, and other competitive multiplayer video games. At my middle school and high school, I always wished that there was an Esports team where I could hone my skills, meet other like minded schoolmates, create memories that would last a lifetime, and engage in a fun, safe, and learning environment.

The IOC, International Olympics Committee has recently said they will introduce Esports as an event in the upcoming Olympics.

Sports are no longer tests of just physical strength, endurance, and skill; they now become a place where players can rival each other with nothing more than a screen, controller, and the hundreds or even thousands of hours to the craft they have dedicated their lives to. For students who may not be physically gifted, this is the opportunity for them to show that their skills are just as valuable as those who are physically gifted. I want to create a chance for my students to compete against other schools' Esports teams to show that they have the skill, confidence, and mettle to hopefully one day compete at the Olympic level when they get older. However, before they can compete at the Olympic level, they need the opportunity to practice and there is no better time than the present. I humbly request you help fill my Donors Choose request for Ninentendo Switches, joy sticks, controllers, and other resources so students can create memories, develop passion, and achieve their dreams.
