Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Students at our school are extremely unique and their educational experience is math and science oriented. They have few electives to choose from and instead spend additional time outside of the regular school day to do the things they love like art, ceramics, learning about climate change, and CHESS. They spend the majority of their time learning complex topics and chess is a way for them to not be so "academic" but still practice critical thinking skills. They love to play, however, we do not have enough resources to support everyone's joy in chess.
Please help our students improve their cognitive skills through chess!
They need the basics like chess boards/pieces and clocks. We also hope to start competing with other schools, something that has never been done before. We are in need of chess tournament bags and supplies. They are highly intelligent kids who need more challenges and experiences outside of our small school and they will be able to do that through chess. Please consider supporting our students in having representation in chess tournaments of small public school chess players.
