This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 7th grade math at Highbridge Green School in the Bronx! Our school was founded 7 years ago through lobbying efforts from parents and community members - it’s the first middle school in our neighborhood. My students are energetic, engaged, and show up each and every day with a desire to learn. Within my math classroom, I get the opportunity to see them struggle, grow, and reap the rewards of their success as they tackle new challenges every day.

My Project

Students depend on their advisory classroom for academic and personal success throughout the year. Our school is unique in that teachers rotate from class to class, while students stay in the same classroom for almost all their subjects throughout the day. They truly get to know all the ins and outs of their particular classroom and it becomes their home throughout the year. In order to make this the most successful year possible for them, we are in need of some new supplies and organizational materials to get ourselves set up to start learning! All of the supplies in this project will be used for our advisory classroom in preparation for the start of the school year. Thank you for your support and consideration!!
