This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The Junior Ring Dance at our Title 1, trade high school is a significant milestone for our students, a night they eagerly anticipate for years. Unfortunately, financial constraints often force our families to make difficult choices, and the burden of paying for tickets, decorations, and vendors can be overwhelming. Our students fund the entire event! We believe that every student deserves the opportunity to fully participate in these cherished high school experiences.

Prom is a cherished rite of passage for high school students, a night they look forward to for years.

However, many students face financial barriers that prevent them from fully participating in this event. As their freshman English/Literacy Lab teacher, and Class Advisor, I am committed to ensuring that no student is excluded from this special occasion due to financial constraints. To make prom more accessible to all students, we are focusing on one essential aspect - decorations. A beautifully decorated prom venue creates a magical atmosphere and contributes significantly to the overall experience. By securing funding for decorations, we can reduce the financial burden on students, making prom more affordable and inclusive.

Students selected "Starry Nights on the Red Carpet" and all the balloon decorations are selected to match our gold, navy, and white theme. The balloon towers, stands, and center pieces will highlight the red carpet feel. My students deserve to feel like stars!
