Our wonderful 4th-grade students are full of energy and curiosity. They love to learn together and work hard to go above and beyond in their learning. They love to explore and create. They would benefit from a learning environment that encourages collaboration and innovation.
Our school is comprised of a variety of students from varying economic backgrounds, cultural backgrounds and education needs.
In addition, many of our students and families have limited resources and creating a welcoming, collaborative environment will continue to ensure their success!
My Project
Our students need a learning space that encourages creativity and collaboration. We encourage students to work together in groups and learn from one another. These are essential skills that we are constantly working to teach our 4th graders.
Our students need a comfortable place to work with other students to solve math problems, work on Genius Hour projects, meet in book clubs, and much more!
We are requesting 3 black Jupiter Stools for student use. These stools will enhance our flexible learning option for students in our common space. Each stool can hold one or two students and be easily moved into a semi circle for small group instruction, split apart for partner work, or combined into a bench that fits together. In our experience, utilizing flexible, comfortable furniture really helps to facilitate a much more collaborative learning environment.
Ultimately, students will have an inviting common place to meet up with students from other classrooms, work together in flexible groups and share ideas. We have secured furniture from other sources and these additional pieces will help us complete the space.
