Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My school is an elementary, Title 1 school, which means that the majority of our students live at or below the poverty level. Nevertheless, we are in the process of making plans to become a better school. We are exploring an international curriculum. The curriculum requires that the children be exposed to the fine arts. The children need to be exposed to drama, so that they can appreciate the writings of the past, present and future. I was a part of a conference that shows how oral readings help build fluency in young children. These stands will be used by the students to perform their selected pieces of dramatic readings or poetry to classmates and the entire student body. Having these stands will help the children focus on their readings. Over time, the children will learn to appreciate art and these brushes will give them an opportunity to practice art more than once every ten days. The journals will be used for recording the children's growth in the area of science. After the children write and talk about their progress. I want my students to develop into global citizen and life-long learners. These materials will help them to do just that. The students will feel confidence when they step up to be a part of the student body. They won't have to make do. They will have the right materials for the appropriate projects.
