You'd be hard pressed to find a sweeter bunch of third graders than those I see before me each day! They are willing to work hard and give me a whole lot of effort each day. Our school uses the workshop approach across the curriculum. I notice that not all students can focus as well as their classmates. There are students with extra energy and have a need to move! Others might become tired and sleepy while doing their independent work. Both groups of students lack focus.
Time and time again, I've seen intriguing studies about standing desks and focus.
I'm ready to give it a try with my students! This year is no exception. There are always going to be kids with ADHD and no medication, as well as kids who don't get enough sleep. I would love to be able to offer my students the chance to improve focus, reduce fatigue and increase productivity. Won't you help me to help them?
