My Project

My scholars are a creative and innovative group; my goal is to help them realize their potential by cultivating academic excellence and recognizing their individual strengths. While there have been many new challenges this school year as we navigate new ways of learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, my scholars are meeting these challenges with resilience, flexibility, and perseverance.

As we navigate COVID-19, we are getting creative with the many ways we deliver instruction, and how students use our instructional space.

This may include lessons at our small-group instruction table, our rug, or even outside on the lawn on a nice day! We are doing all that we can to ensure that our use of instructional space maximizes the ability to social distance, and that shared spaces are frequently disinfected and sanitized.

To support social distancing and small-group learning, we would like to supply our classroom with a portable standing desk. This will permit us to hold small groups in various areas around the room or around the building, work on student reading goals one-on-one, and keep students socially distanced as much as possible. A standing desk will allow us to instantly transform any area, from hallway space to outdoor space, into a learning area. This desk will include surface area to organize teaching and presentation materials and to work one-on-one with students.
