Stained Glass Projects by 6th Graders!

Help me give my students cathedral, transparent, and opalescent glass sheets 4”x6” or larger. We can also use other stained glass materials for our projects.

My Project

Our 6th graders learn how to safely cut the glass, use a glass grinder, put on the foil tape, flux, & finally solder the ornaments themselves!

The kids take a such pride in hand-making stained glass ornaments as Christmas presents for their parents/guardians.

They also learn to take care of the supplies & put them away each day. The kids gain self-esteem, a special craft, they also learn a little chemistry! The flux is “magic” & has a low melting temperature. It’s job is to liquify & clean the copper foil which allows the solder to melt, solidify, & stick.
