Help me give my students hard copies of "The 57 Bus" and "The Hate U Give" in order to adapt books into scenes and plays.

My Students
Our students are creative, out-of-the box thinkers who love and excel in the arts. They are truly unique individuals who love to work in collaborative teams to solve problems and use their art to show what they know. These students chose a performing arts school because they want to be part of a small learning community and part of a creative team.
These student artists do their best when they can learn through the lens of the art they love.
As such, most of their knowledge is gained through group projects that are integrated with the arts. They are given a wide array of choices from which to craft projects that include the content they are studying, various areas of arts, and multiple ways to show us how they have mastered both the National Core Arts Standards and the Common Core Standards as well. In this learning environment, the teacher becomes the facilitator of learning and not the giver of instruction. The students truly drive their own education.
My Project
In this integrated English and Theater project, students will read "The Hate U Give" and "The 57 Bus" in their English classes.
After analyzing structure, storytelling, and theme in these books, students will adapt these important works into their own plays and scenes.
By integrating their theater work with their English work - students will have a more meaningful experience truly immersed in these award-winning texts around social justice.
These materials will make a difference in students' learning as it will allow them to explore the importance of studying and staging works that comment on injustices in our society. Such exploration will allow them to consider their own role as young artists and story tellers.
