My Project

The National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) stated that one of the major purposes of physical education is to develop movement competency and proficiency in students.

Sport stacking is truly something you have to see to believe - the kids love it!

Sport stacking is a fitness based sport that appeals to kids from all backgrounds and abilities. For the athlete and non-athlete alike, sport stacking is a great activity for promoting fitness, achievement, and inclusion. Speed stacking is an exciting individual and team sport where participants will stack and unstack specially designed cups in specific patterns. There is a growing list of research that indicates sport stacking is effective at enhancing key, skill related components of physical fitness, i.e., hand-eye coordination and reaction time, for developing movement competency, especially object manipulation skills. Speed stacking not only promotes physical fitness, but also academic learning. Students that speed stack on a regular basis have shown increases in test scores and levels of concentration. This is achieved by students using both their right and left sides of their brain. When they speed stack, they are crossing the midline of their bodies and developing new connections in their brains.
