My Students

My kindergarten students are curious, energetic 5 and 6 year olds. Their excitement to be attending elementary school for the first time is contagious. From their first to last day, they soak up so much learning that their academic and social growth is amazing to experience.

Our school is located in a small rural town with a close-knit community that supports our school's vision of "Creating a Community of Learners and Leaders".

Visitors to our school immediately feel the support that each member of our staff and community gives to our students.

My Project

Kindergarten students need hands-on math tools that build number sense. The Math Stacker combo set gives students numbers that can be held and compared. A student can see and interact with a math problem. The Math Stackers are an ideal tool for both whole group and small group lessons.

When math is fun and interactive, a student makes more connections to how numbers interact with each other.

Understanding number sense is the ability to see number relationships. When a student develops number sense, they have a strong foundation for understanding more difficult math concepts.

I know bringing the Math Stacker blocks into my classroom will enlighten math concepts for each of my students.
