Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from different socioeconomic backgrounds, cultures, and countries. They range from general education, special education and ESL students who are just learning the English language. My students have some of the most beautiful souls and often help fellow classmates that are struggling.

I believe that every single student has a purpose in my classroom and can be successful.

As their teacher, I always try to find a way to boost my students' self-esteem, practice what it means to truly love yourself, be accepting of others and find a love for science.

My Project

Every school year we are faced with new challenges, but this year safety is a top priority. This past school year was difficult for students virtually and in-person. The students that were in person knew a routine which involved sanitizing their hands and their desks. They were expected to wear masks daily and sit forward in rows.

All students will be reporting to in-person learning this school year, which means more cleaning supplies will be needed.

Having antibacterial soap and paper towels for the class will only be beneficial for the students in the long run as we conduct experiments and investigations. Hand sanitizer, tissues and cleaning supplies stationed at every table will help ensure that students have access to materials to keep them in the classroom.

Most importantly, having extra face masks for my students would mean the world to all of us. This past year I had to purchase masks for my students because so many were wearing the disposable ones daily. The masks would break and we would have to scramble to find another mask for them. Having extra masks in my classroom, both children's and adult sizes will help ensure that we have the necessary protections in place for safe learning.
