This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are the first ever Cheerleading Squad for our high school campus in the Bronx. Our gals are motivated and excited to represent their school and foster a spirit amongst all of the schools within the campus that has not been there before. Our girls want our schools and our campus to be recognized for our talent, dedication, and hard work.

The team is composed of 5 senior women, 7 junior women, 7 sophomore women, and 3 freshmen women.

All of the members of the squad are brand new to cheerleading but have experience in dancing, step-team, and other physical sports.

The young ladies commit themselves to practice and building relationships with each other as sisters. They hold each other accountable. They support each other with their kindness and their efforts. Lastly, every single one of these young ladies is looking forward to stunning crowds and putting smiles on faces.

My Project

Our campus has been around for over 13 years. Our students have been able to participate in Basketball, Cross Country, Baseball, and Softball, but our campus was missing something important that could uplift the entire school. Five girls across the three schools housed at our campus pushed for the creation of the first official Bulldogs Cheerleading Squad. We are a group of 23 young ladies who are dedicated to leading the school in spirit.

The items requested are some of the basic items we need but cannot afford.

Because we are a brand new program, the majority of our budget has gone to the purchase of uniforms. We are still in need of the undergarments and accessories that can allow us to cheer confidently.

We are hard-working young ladies who need to feel comfortable in our uniforms. These requested items would allow us to perform freely without any fears of dreaded wardrobe malfunctions.
