This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

How the Specific Items Will Make a Difference:

For this project, I am requesting resources that will help us create a thriving school garden.

The items, such as gardening tools, seeds, soil, and planters, will not only teach my students about the importance of environmental stewardship but also offer hands-on learning experiences. These resources will allow them to apply what they learn in science, math, and language arts to real-life situations. By planting, tending to, and harvesting their own garden, students will better understand concepts like plant growth, ecosystems, and sustainability while also learning responsibility and teamwork.

The goal of this project is to provide my students with a space where they can develop skills that will serve them both in school and in life. Through our garden, we’ll explore environmental science, work together to design and grow our garden, and build a sense of ownership and pride in the process. I want to foster a love of nature, teach the value of hard work, and encourage students to see the connections between what they learn in the classroom and the world around them.

My students are special because they are deeply invested in their learning. They come from diverse backgrounds and bring a variety of perspectives, making our classroom a vibrant, dynamic space where ideas and creativity flourish. Whether they are working independently or collaborating with others, they approach each task with passion and determination. The opportunity to work in a school garden will give them a tangible way to connect with their environment, their peers, and their learning, and I can’t wait to see how this project will inspire them.

Thank you for considering supporting this project! Your donation will help my students grow in ways that extend far beyond the classroom.
