Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A very popular book our students enjoy reading is “The Very Hungry Caterpillar.” One of the items requested for our classroom is a butterfly garden with live caterpillars, which will allow our students to experience the life cycle of a butterfly in our classroom in real time. Along with the butterfly garden, we would like to incorporate fine motor skills activities.

The butterfly and insect counters will be used in our sensory bins, as well as our math and science centers.

The paper and dot markers will be put in our art area where our students have access to independently create their masterpieces. We will also use these materials for directed drawings and spring time art projects.
