Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

When I asked my students for a project recently, what upgrades they would like to see in our school, one 6th grade student simply said "more colored pencils." Sometimes it is the most simple and basic things that really make a difference to our kids. Dwindling supplies won't stop me and my students from making wonderful, creative artwork, but I would love to improve our basic supplies (like scissors, paper, glue, and markers) so that we can go into our Spring semester with style! As well, working in classrooms not meant to house Art has its challenges (such as no sink and limited storage). Therefore, items like wipes and paper towels are key.

With our goal of an end-of-year art show and a nearby Black History Month celebration quickly approaching, these items will make a huge difference to my students' learning and art-making.

Please help me make these arts events even more special and meaningful for my students, they deserve it!!
