Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students desperately need some art materials for different phases of their upcoming drawing and painting assignments. We need tracing paper for transferring charcoal drawings to canvas boards. By purchasing one 18-inch wide roll, the tracing paper can be cut easily into sheets for each student. We need fadeless construction paper for self-portrait drawings. We need ten cans of spray fixative for spraying students' self-portraits in charcoal onto canvas boards before painting. We need kneaded erasers for lifting highlights and overworked areas on their charcoal drawings. We need gloss varnish for sealing, protecting and displaying students' finished paintings. We also need double-sided velcro tape for adhering their paintings to large gator boards for our upcoming spring art Installation!

I am pleased to announce that my Beginning and Advanced Drawing & Painting classes have been invited by Zocalo Coffee House and James and Suzette Whitehouse (curators) to do a six-week art installation.

The show will be split into two, three-week expositions:

Part 1: March 23-April 13, Monochromatic Self-portraits, Cloud paintings

Part 2: April 13-Sunday May 3, abstract Color Tables, Lemon paintings, Still-Life Color Builds
