My class is composed of 16 adorable, creative children. I am so blessed to see their inquisitive little minds at work daily. Our classroom is full of energy & innovation. I hope to give each and every one of my students a loving, safe environment to learn!
I teach 2nd grade at a Title I school in Texas, where we are still recovering for the devastating effects of Hurricane Harvey.
These students lived through a rough 1st grade year due to the Hurricane in 2017. However, my students are resilient & eager to learn. Many of these children lost everything in the storm, are still displaced, & unfortunately lacking basic necessities, but they show up every morning trying their best to smile. My students are survivors & they deserve the best.
My Project
I have a classroom full of students who LOVE science! Our favorite science topic so far has been learning about living things! They have been excited about plants, animals, and most of all...BUGS! We are going to be focusing on the life cycle of different insects next six weeks,
What better way to learn the life cycle of an insect than to watch it happen right before your eyes?
I know my students will be overjoyed to come to school every day just to check out what is happening in their butterfly habitat. We will get to write about our experience growing butterflies & then releasing them into the world!
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
