Our Crochet Club meets weekly after school. We are a group of students and teachers who meet on a purely volunteer basis to share a love of fiber arts. Throughout the year, we have learned to slipknot, chain, and single crochet, and are now ready to move on to making functional, wearable crocheted pieces!
We want to use our skills to help our community while learning even more about crochet.
Hats and scarves for the local women's shelter will benefit the community while allowing us to practice our crochet skills and learn new crochet techniques. Crafting "granny squares" together for a larger project to share with local nursing homes will be a satisfying way to spread kindness and teach the students empathy and teamwork. To accomplish this, we would like some supplies! Until now, we have been using borrowed or found supplies, and don't have enough appropriate yarn to complete larger projects.
