Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are engaging in a community service project that focuses on spreading kindness within our school. As part of this initiative, they will design and craft personalized keychains to gift to their peers, fostering a stronger sense of connection and appreciation among students. Through this project, they will experience firsthand how small acts of kindness can create a more positive and supportive community.

To complete this community service activity, students will use shrinky dink sheets, acrylic paint pens, keychain rings, and other craft supplies to create unique designs.

A toaster will be used to shrink the sheets, making the keychains durable and professional-looking. This hands-on project not only promotes kindness but also teaches students important skills such as creativity, teamwork, and attention to detail—valuable in both event planning and everyday life. By leading this initiative, my students will learn that even the smallest gestures can have a lasting impact on their school community.
