Each year, Santa's elves work hard at our school to spread holiday cheer to our neediest families by supplying them with the materials to play, at home, with their families. Parents and guardians are invited to our "Workshop" to choose games, toys, coats, boots, and gloves for their children. We assist parents in wrapping the gifts and they take them home to give to their children for whichever winter holiday they are celebrating. Parents are invited to a hot cup of coffee and cookies as they shop. For parents who cannot attend, we invite the students. The looks on their faces are priceless. Most of them are more focused on securing gifts for their siblings and not themselves. It is truly a priceless day of love and memories.
These interactive toys help children learn how to care for their babies, practice letters, numbers, read with siblings, and follow directions by playing board games, and allow students to share in the joy of giving to others.
We have so many families struggling to make ends meet this year, and providing presents under the tree that help build social skills and learn to play truly makes a difference. It's about sharing love and the joy of giving with our entire school family.
