Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach students from PK-5th. Some do not understand English, some have behavioral issues and some are special education students. Imagine living in the inner city and the only fitness or sports education is only once or maybe twice a week in P.E. class.

Imagine the potential of these future fitness professionals or athletes if they had the resources available to them.

I can and this is why I want them to have the best Physical Education experience available! I want my students to learn sport skills, as well as life long fitness and cooperation skills. I want these kids to leave to middle school with the foundation they need to be successful in fitness and skills.

My Project

Many of my students have never played a sport before. Now imagine walking into Physical Education class and seeing the intimidating hard soccer, volleyballs and footballs.

Many students that have never used these kinds of balls would feel very intimidated and maybe even scared that they might get hurt.

I want my students to form a love for sports and physical activity to last a lifetime. I believe that elementary Physical Education is the most important age group to teach because these students are building a foundation to learn sport and fitness skills. The parachute is also a great way for my students to cooperate while getting a fun workout.
