My Project

My students are curious, creative, and eager to get their hands dirty, literally! They come from diverse backgrounds and many of them don’t have access to art materials outside of school. Intersession is a time when we get to explore more hands-on, project-based learning, and the excitement is always through the roof when we introduce new creative techniques.

Help me give my students the tools and materials to explore and bring the magic of wheel throwing pottery during our intersession program.

With your support, we’ll be able to create something real, something lasting, and something beautiful together. With the right tools and materials, twenty students will have the opportunity to learn how to create pottery on the wheel, an experience that blends art, science, and mindfulness.

Many of my students have never worked with clay before, let alone used a pottery wheel. This project will help them develop patience, precision, and creativity.

There’s something transformative about seeing a lump of clay turn into a beautiful, functional piece of art, especially when it’s made by your own hands.

This project will allow my students to experience a hands-on, 3D art medium, explore a new form of expression, build confidence and focus and learn about the history and science of ceramics.

The supplies we purchase will also be reusable or go toward future art units, giving this project a lasting impact.
