My Students

My students are as young as 4 and as old as 14! I work in a PreK-8th-grade public school. I am one of the few teachers in our building that has the privilege of instructing ALL of our students! That is because I am the only Multi-Media teacher at our school! The students in my building are from various socio-economic backgrounds. Some of the students have learning and or physical disabilities. Some of the students recently moved to the United States. Some of them have one or both parents serving in the military. Several military students have parents who are currently deployed. Relaxing and reading in the Library is a popular choice of many students. It gives them the opportunity to destress from their everyday school concerns as well as their home concerns.

Whatever their story is, they are always welcome in our school library!

My Project

My students need a rotating literature display so that they can SEE all of the wonderful books the library has to offer! By displaying books in the rotating display, the students will be able to see new titles or perhaps titles they did not know were in our library!

Therefore, they will be more motivated to CHOOSE a book and READ!

Just like a store window, book presentation is key when trying to get students to read!

Also, I plan to use the Library Cart to highlight sections of books in our library. I will be able to load up the cart with an entire category!
