Sphero Coding

My Students

The students who attend my school are always striving for more knowledge. The students work hard and are very thorough in their work. They want to know more about the world around them. They enjoy new and exciting challenges. The students are very diverse and have many different backgrounds. The student are very caring and look forward to being at school. The students make teaching very rewarding. They are our future and want to be the best in all areas. They just need the experience to do things they have not done before.

My Project

The students will learn firsthand how to solve coding issues. They will become the software engineers who code robotics. They will see and fix issues that will come up as they go through a designed course. I am sure the students will enjoy the chance to see what they type can affect how a robot will maneuver through a designed course. The students will use code.org to begin the process of learning coding. One they have mastered this process we will move into more detailed coding that will help them code a path for the Sphero. Once they have practiced with certain paths there will be a competition of how fast they can get their Sphero to complete a designed course. The student will see the course ahead of time so they will know what has to be done to finish the course efficiently. With the use of the Spheros we will be able to program the Sphero to do different things. The students will be able to understand what programming is and how it affects our everyday lives. It will be an experience they will not forget.
