My Students

My students thirst for knowledge and wisdom, but often lack the resources to quench their thirst.

We are a business-themed public high school located in the heart of Queens, NY, the most culturally and ethnically diverse neighborhood in the world.

The children who enter my classroom come from all over NYC. As such, they carry with them a wealth of knowledge that contributes to a dynamic classroom. However, many of my students also come from economically disadvantaged homes. Therefore, many times, resources, basic supplies and equipment for extracurricular activities and team sports are scarce.

My Project

Rugby season is underway and my talented team, of high school girls, is eager to get on the field. In order to have effective practices, they will need some essential equipment. They are in need of a variety of exercise equipment. My girls train three days per week, but with limited space and limited supplies, those workouts become quite challenging and frustrating.

The goal of this project is to create an environment where our training sessions will be more effective and organized, even in a small space.

During the day, I nurture my students' minds. After school, however, it's time to play! In order to do so, I need your help.
