My Students

I work in a Title I school and there are amazing students from Pre-K through 8th grade in our school and on my caseload. These incredible students come from diverse backgrounds and educational experiences. They come to speech therapy every day with a smile on their face and are eager to achieve their goals. Technology is a big part of the learning process at P.S. 43 but is not something that we have access to in my therapy room. The students loved to go up to the small white board to share their answers but I unfortunately broke. They would really be excited to explore the technology experiences offered by an interactive whiteboard. It would great increase participation!

My Project

The interactive whiteboard will allow me to not only change the whiteboard experience from typical to fun and interactive, it will also allow us to have a large board to write on that all students can see. Since the only board broke we have use little mini whiteboards which limits how much can written and seen. It will be a valuable tool that can be used for, small group lessons, individual sessions, interactive activities, and literacy work as well as many other uses. The opportunity to watch videos related to the lesson will really help reinforce the information for my students. An interactive whiteboard will allow students to lead lessons with their group-mates, become motivated to learn and increase their willingness to participate.
