Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I absolutely love my students’ enthusiasm and determination. They are in a special day classroom, each with unique speech and language needs, and they thrive when given opportunities to learn through engaging, hands-on activities. Their creativity and curiosity shine when we explore new ways to build their communication skills.

Textured materials, like sensory cards or fidget tools, will help them stay engaged while improving focus and tactile awareness.

These tools will also support hands-on learning activities, such as matching vocabulary words to textured objects, which reinforce expressive and receptive language skills. For example, students can use textured cards to describe objects, practice turn-taking, or expand their vocabulary during group sessions.

The Teacher Pay Teachers gift cards will allow me to purchase themed digital activities that align with the seasons or classroom events. For instance, during winter, I can use interactive games that teach winter vocabulary or create story-building activities about holidays. My students love using laptops, and these activities make learning fun and meaningful while strengthening their language, social, and technology skills.

My goal is to create a dynamic, supportive therapy environment where my students feel confident and excited to learn. With these materials, I can tailor therapy sessions to their individual needs and interests, helping them achieve their communication goals.
